Macro Monday Series

Macro Monday is a weekly photo series on my blog dedicated to close-up photography—sharing one macro image each Monday that reveals the finer details we often overlook. These photographs showcase the beauty in small subjects: textures, patterns, and tiny moments that come to life when viewed up close.

Marco Photography

Macro photography is a style of photography that focuses on capturing subjects at very close range, often at a 1:1 ratio or greater. This means the subject appears life-sized (or larger) on the camera sensor, allowing you to see incredible detail in things like flowers, insects, water droplets, or everyday objects. It’s a perspective that turns the ordinary into something extraordinary.

I’ve always been drawn to the challenge and creativity that macro photography brings. Each Macro Monday post highlights one of these moments—sometimes spontaneous, sometimes carefully composed—but always focused on the small wonders around us. For the most part it has been taken using a macro lens (most likely the Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 AF-S), but not always.

I have a collection of work (a Macro Portfolio) in this genre as well. This portfolio will be available here soon.
