We have been working super hard on the van conversion over the last few months in anticipation of getting to go someplace warm in December. Florida is pretty much the only place warmer than where we are, so that was the plan back in the great heat of the summer.

A few weeks ago we got to the point where we could take the van out for a test night, where we went to a free primitive campsite in Georgia called Rood Creek Park. You can read about that trip and see the gallery of images over at Van Camping at Rood Creek Park if you are so inclined. One thing I wasn't really expecting on this trip was how picturesque this place was going to be and how many opportunities there were to get out my camera. Of course we were only there for less than 24 hours so the camera time was short.

Now we are looking forward to some warmer Florida weather. It's been super cloudy, really cold (to us), and rainy for what seems like weeks now, so anything in the mid-70° range is going to feel like heaven. If you want to follow along with us we post all those updates on our Shanty Travelers blog and I plan on doing some shorter daily posts there (and maybe over on my micro.blog space if I am feeling inspired).

We have worked really hard on our Shanty Travelers website and blog so if you want to get email updates from that site you can subscribe over there for free. Posts over there are just related to our travel so those won't show up here.
