This project is something that I’ve been working on for years.

This project is something that I’ve been working on for years, and in some ways I found inspiration for this through the portrait work of Dan Winters, Sean Tucker, Fiona Lark, and Vivian Maier.

Self portraits are so unlike the smartphone “selfies,” we are all accustomed to today. These self-portraits delve deeper into the traditional photographic genre of intentionality and purpose. Each image tells a unique story, capturing moments of vulnerability, strength, and introspection, and marks a time and place.

I always consider each portfolio as a sort of living breathing thing. I will continue to add to these collections until I think they have reached their potential as a set and then I will move to a "Part 2" version. This is why there is a Auburn I and Auburn II portfolio (the first is finished, the second is still a work in progress).
