As a way to take an objective view of my photography I am working on a yearly recap gallery for each year going backwards to the 90s. For each year below I select 24 images to represent the year. If interested, I also have a gear breakdown year by year.

Thoughts About 2023

The year 2023 marked the culmination of a long journey from photographic distractions towards a more serious pursuit of photography, and it nearly brought an end to the prolonged nightmare that was the COVID-19 pandemic. For the first time since 2020, I captured more images in total than in any of the previous three years, even though many were not destined for my lifetime portfolio. The 24 images representing 2023 showcased here possess a broader focus than I typically prefer, reflecting the broad spectrum of life experiences that ultimately converged into some of my favorite shots of recent years.

In the realm of photography, 2023 concluded with a renewed commitment to myself: to create the best possible images using the most suitable gear available to me and my circumstances. This endeavor proved to be one of the year’s greatest challenges, but it also reignited my passion for photography and instilled in me a newfound determination to continue learning and creating.
